welcome. This area will cover topics dealing with the environment and other
green type of ideas. And I am hoping it will also include some money saving

Wash your clothes in cold
water:
Wash your laundry in cold
water, there is detergent for cold as well.
Plant your own garden: Nothing is so great then
planting your own vegetables and herbs, free of chemicals.
Unplug unnecessary
appliances at night: Believe it or not just leaving your toaster plugged
in wastes electricity. Try to remember to unplug when not in use or use a timer
power bar is.
Pay bills online: Request online bills.
That alone will save you a load of paper.
Replace Bulbs: Make the switch from
regular light bulbs to CFLs. That’s if you haven’t done it yet.
Upgrade appliances: Replace your old
appliances to efficient (energy star) ones. Save you big bucks.
Walk or Bike as much as
you can: Think twice before you get into your car. If it’s a short trip you
probably can bike it or even walk.
Avoid using paper in
general: Try to use a computer or none paper formats to store important
information.
Reusable water bottle of
water filtration unit: Try using a refillable bottle instead of buying a
bottle. You can save money and the environment. Also try a water filtration
unit if you’re picky on how clean your water is.
Dry your clothes the old
fashion way: Run some clothes lines in the basement or outside depending on the
weather instead of using the dryer. Use your dryer only for emergencies when
you really need something dried right away.
Energy Audit of your
home: On a consistent basis do an walk around your house and see what you can
do to reduce the amount of waste especially when it comes to energy.
Buy used before buying
new: Check out your local classified, used stores or the internet for before
you buy new. You would be amazed what you can get cheap.
Rainwater collectors: Try and collect rainwater
to water your plants outdoors and even indoors. It’s amazing how much water you
can collect.
