Newspapers,
Flyers
and E-flyers, make The time when looking for
dealS
There is a wealth of deals in newspapers, flyers and any other
mass media propaganda which you can find almost anywhere. Problem is you need
time to weed through this mess. What
works for me and once again this one I learned from another friend and he
literally makes this a ritual on Thursday nights. He gathers all the local towns’
newspaper, city newspapers and flyers, finds a quiet place and go through them
with a find tooth comb. What a better way to prep yourself for upcoming deals. What
better prepares you for the deals then knowing where they are.
Ours shows up Wednesday night and boy I get a stack a mile high
from every possible shop and big box store out there. For some reason they like
Wednesday nights. Hey I am not complaining! It just makes my life that much
more easier to find the deals. This way by Friday “grocery day for us” We have
grocery list in one hand and where to buy in another.
Another option I also choose is eflyers. Which you can subscribe
to and then they send you a flyer. But now days, if you look hard enough on the
internet for a local website you will find a site that shows them all.
I find the local deals can save you quite a bit especially
groceries for me. I like try to plan my weekend grocery shopping with all the
local flyers and then jump from place to place knowing exactly what I want or
need, and obviously they all have to be in close vicinity or you land up
spending more on gas then gorceries.
Now once again you need to put your frugal hat one. Just because
“Price Chippers” has a 5 pack of ketchup on sale does not necessarily mean it’s
a good deal. If you land up throwing out 4 of the 5 because they expired. You
need to really plan things out.
The way I see it is you should buy what you only need and might as
well get it at a discount. Which means, what money is left you can decide to by
something that’s a little healthier for you. So instead of buying the pack of
white bread you can now buy the whole wheat bread on sale for 20 cents more. I
truly believe health eating is extremely important. And I also believe if
budgeted properly and you do your research you can find good quality food at
discounted prices.
But you really need to do you digging; I didn’t say being frugal
was easy! You need to work on it. But trust me it does get easier and in time a
pattern emerges. Then know where to find the deals. Plus you feel good knowing
you’re providing healthy food to your family. |
